I am

I am Brazilian, Canadian. I am a son, brother, and friend. The story of y portrait is very complex. Its main goal is to tell a story of immigration of my family and the different branches of my family. It shows my mothers side of the family from Canada, my fathers from brazil and the combination of them in the USA. It also incorporates some of my hobies.

  1. Your drawing was very complete to me. I thought that the way you pieced together all of the different things that make up you into your self portrait was very cool. I also thought that having the world as the background was a very creative idea and helped contrast the colors.

  2. Matheus--
I really liked how you showed how prideful you are of your cultural backgrounds. I also thought it was very creative that you put your name in your eyebrows, and funny too. I love the bulls eye flag effect, because well I dont know it just looked cool.

I thought that yours was really very interesting. I noticed that after you looked at if for awhile you could really notice the world in the back. And also you put so much thought and detail into the self portrait part. Nice job making your self look buff hahah!

  4. It was really cool how you put all of the things that are important to you on your self portrait and not just around yourself. All the small details really bring together everything and make it all look complete. Also having the background be the world and kind of dark and having you be white made the main focus on you and not the background. And having the maps with the bulls eyes showing where you are from with the colors of the place looked really cool and was also a really cool idea. I also liked how even though you didn't put yourself in the exact center of the paper you still stayed the main part of the picture.

  5. I really liked the bulls-eye design of the flag in the country, it's a really creative way of showing where in those countries you have a connection and a good way of showing off that country's flag.

  6. Matheus, I liked a lot of the parts of your project. First of all, I like how you made sure you had the mohawk to make it more you so people would be able to defiently tell who it was (if they didn't read your eyebrows anyways haha). I also liked the way on the maps of where you came from there's the bullseye to show where it is, it was a good touch. You also did a good job on the emphasis of yourself in all white with the world in the background, it looks really 3 dimensional.

  7. Matheus, i liked how you colored you background the world and the cornners black it made it look like you were floating in space. i also like the details you put like coloring in the eye different things, and making your body being a map and showing the different places that you were from. i also like the details you put in the tear drops. it shows that you put a lot of work in to this project.

  9. I really like how you incorparated pastels. It really helped make certain things pop out and others flow well together. Overall I think it was very well pieced together. The way you made everything flow and others spread out into a target pattern also helped with your eye movement when you are looking at the piece of work. Last i like how you incorparated so much into your face yet it still looked like your face.

  10. I felt that in this portrait you really showcased your artistic talent and creative thinking. You incorporated your entire life story into your art and you created an amazing portrait. I like how you incorporated your heritage into your body and face. I also liked how you used proportion to make it seem as if your were popping out of the picture. Your presentation was also very entertaining.
